White Christmas Trees

White Christmas Trees

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas! It sure seems like it because I caught the bug to make all white Christmas trees for a shelf I have in my living room. I went to a couple of craft stores and got varied sizes of papier mache’  trees, got gluing and came up with this fun version of a Christmas tree. I’ll show you how.

I’ll take this tree by tree and let you know what I used on each one.

FLORAL TRIMMED TREE:

Floral Trimmed Tree

  • 15″ papier mache’ cone
  • White acrylic paint
  • Glue gun
  • 4 yds. flower trim (flowers are 1″) (sewing section Hobby Lobby)
  • 1/8 yd. flower trim (flowers are 1/2″) (sewing section Hobby Lobby) Paint cone with white paint and let dry. Starting at bottom of cone, glue trim and start wrapping upward. Cut smaller flowers apart and use these to fill in areas near the treetop.

  • Tacky glue

Paint cone white and let dry. Place a line of glue around upper edge of lace and start placing 2″ above bottom of cone. Continue wrapping in rows so the lace above covers the lace below it by about 1/4″ .

PEARL TREE:

These are just a few ideas. Go crazy with it and see what white trims you can find. Or make them all the same for a more uniform look or try different colors. These were lots of fun to make and can be done with little ones helping too. Merry Christmas!
