July 4th is right around the corner. As a hostess gift or to spice up your own holiday decor, this simple to make picture frame fits the bill. With a few items purchased from Michaels bargain section and using things you probably have in your stash, this frame is also budget-friendly. Let’s get started!
- Wooden picture frame (Michaels)
- Red, white and blue flowers (Michaels bargain section)
- Brown ink or paint to give frame an aged look
- One sheet of decorative scrapbooking paper
- Mod Podge -Buy Here
To begin, ink or paint edges of frame for a rugged look. Cut scrapbook paper to fit your frame. Cover front of frame with Mod Podge and smooth the paper down. Let dry several minutes. Lightly sand edges of frame and paper. I used an emery board for this. Hit the edges of your flowers with your brown ink or paint. Glue onto frame. I just used the Mod Podge for this step. Intersperse twine loops among your flowers. Glue. Done!
