Just in time! Try this simple-to-make delectable treat for someone special. They will be forever yours. Dress them up for Valentine’s Day or leave the chocolate alone to be its glorious self. Either way, you can’t go wrong.
BROWNIE BITES (makes about 40)
- One 8×8 pan of fudge style brownies, cooked according to package directions (or store bought)
- 2 (12 oz.) bags of chocolate candy melts
- Decorations and red chocolate candy melts, if desired
Start by melting the chocolate in a double boiler or chocolate melting pot ( like this one ). The chocolate should be melted by the time you get the brownies into bites.
Make sure brownies have cooled. Cut off any crunchy bits of brownies. Discard (or eat). Let’s get rolling! Break off bits of brownie and roll into approximately 1-inch balls. Your fudgy brownie ball should stick together very nicely on its own.
Set up a tray with wax paper. Using a fork, dip brownie bites into chocolate. I usually pour some of my chocolate into a smaller cup to make this process easier and less messy.
Place dipped brownie bites onto prepared tray. Let set. With chocolate melts, this should only take 10 minutes or so.
After the chocolate has set, you may choose to decorate. I used more of the chocolate melts for some and red chocolate candy melts with Valentine decorations for others. To make the swooshes on top, place melted chocolate in a small plastic bag, snip off the corner to make a hole, squeeze bag and go crazy with zig-zags across the top of brownie bites. While swooshes are still wet, sprinkle with decorations, if desired.
I hope you get a chance to try these. Mmmm…
