I know this won’t come as a surprise to anyone who knows me, but I love chocolate! And one of my favorite ways to eat chocolate is with creamy vanilla ice cream. Ever since I was a young girl, this recipe is one I’ve relied on when the craving for a hot fudge sundae strikes.
This recipe for hot fudge sauce is creamy and gooey, and more importantly, it’s quick and so easy–just four ingredients. I’m almost embarrassed to share this recipe because it’s so easy. It’s so delicious, though, that no one has to know.
1 12 oz. bag of semisweet chocolate chips (or two cups)
1 stick butter (1/2 cup)
1 14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
In a medium sauce pan, combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. On low heat, stir constantly until chocolate chips and butter are melted and ingredients are combined and smooth. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla. Seriously! That’s it!
Serve hot over ice cream. The hot fudge sauce turns chewy and gooey–delicious! This recipe will store well in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks–if it lasts that long!
This makes a great gift, too!
